Mold Illness Treatment Mistakes
Mold sickness treatment can be complicated and overwhelming. Trust me, I know that. After spending years guiding people to recovery, I have noticed the same mold illness treatment mistakes being made.
Mistake #1: You haven’t tested your home or work for mold.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to address mold exposure before starting the treatment! Make sure to do a reputable mold test at your home, school, or work. Don’t guess, just test!
Mistake #2: You’re living in a mold-free house, but you’re still exposing yourself to it.
Every house, every environment had mold spores. Some have less, some have a lot. Try to avoid any buildings that aren’t tested for mold while you’re healing.
Mistake #3: You’re not keeping your detox pathways open.
During the detox, your organs are working extra hard to get rid of toxins. Make sure to help them out. Supporting drainage and detox organs such as the kidneys, liver, and lymphatic system are important for healing.
Mistake #4: You’re taking too many supplements and focus solely on supplement protocols.
Many people with mold illness are super sensitive to foods, chemicals, or medications. The last thing you need is 10 different supplements at once. It's more for your immune system to process and make sense of. Healing goes far beyond finding the perfect supplement protocol.
Mistake #5: You’re looking for quick fixes.
Chronic illness is not the flu. It won’t be healed within a week, even if you're out of the exposure. Find a good practitioner, commit to your protocol and be patient!
Mistake #6: You’re not doing any mindset and brain retraining.
There's a strong relationship between mental and physical health. Unhealthy thoughts can rev up the fight or flight chronic stress response and cause physical symptoms. Calming this response and activating the parasympathetic nervous system is key to healing from sensitivities, brain fog, fatigue, and more! You can not properly detox and heal while in constant "fight or flight".
Mistake #7: Not working on the gut.
Around 80% of the immune system is in the gut. It is directly connected to the brain. So gut inflammation leads to brain fog, memory issues, etc. If you have reactions to foods, supplements, chemicals, and more, you most likely have a leaky gut leading to massive inflammation as toxins start leaking into the bloodstream. A history of antibiotic use causes dysbiosis (bacterial imbalances) leading to candida and immune dysfunction. Heal the gut!
